I want to be a …

I want to be a dreamer….

All men dream…but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day it find that it was vanity. But the dreamers of the day are DANGEROUS MEN, for they may act with open eyes, to make it possible” – T . E. Lawerence

This is my blog…thoughts/sights/feelings that I have during the day that cause me to think…to dream!

The quote at the beginning is a great quote, one that I heard in a sermon on the first Sunday of 2013. What a quote to start the year with! It inspired me to make the most of 2013…a year for the dreamer! This year I want to make the most of the opportunities I get in order to help get me to the dream I believe God has given me. (That dream I may write about at a later date…one point from the sermon -be careful who you disclose your dream to!)

In case you haven’t worked out I am a christian, one who loves going to church and not because it’s my duty to go (just to point out I am only 20 years old :P); one who believes everything in the Bible – from creation to the visions of what is to come, miracles and stories heaven and hell! If you’re not a christian, that’s your choice and your belief, not mine and I will not try to change that. (Though if you have any questions please ask away!) What I write is for my own benefit, which you may also find useful, hence why I have decided to jump on the bandwagon and start my own blog.

Though it is debatable how long this will last (in my head) as I’ve started things before and not always great at updating daily…I will however always come back to it eventually!

So now begins what will be an interesting year ……

May I ask you a very VERY often asked question? Well, the question is how you believe in god when there is so much sorrow around you? I don’t want to change your mind or anything similar I just wanted to get a christians perspective on the subject. So yeah, that’s it GREAT POST btw.

Hey sorry for the late reply.
I believe that God never intended for sorrow/ hurt in the world. He just wanted a relationship with us. Death (we believe from in Genesis) only came to earth because Adam and Eve both ate from the forbidden tree (hence also why child bearing is so painful!! Now you know who to thank if you ever have kids)…which caused sin to come into the world. The punishment for sin is death (hence everyone dies, no one lives forever) and so out of sin came all the bad things in the world. Only made worse by the devil/satan wanting to cause havoc and since the world is his domain he has power in it (but God is MORE powerful than anything that Satan does.)
In terms of why does God let stuff, like cancer or natural disasters, happen…to be honest I don’t know, as who could Him being God. If we know everything He was thinking or able to understand everything He does or doesn’t do, then He wouldn’t be God.
But He will never leave you or forsake you, and sometimes the song ‘that that doesn’t kill you will only make you stronger’ can sometimes be a reality. Sometimes God lets you go through hard stuff (but nothing that you can’t handle) in order to teach you lessons. I mean how many charities/movements have been birthed out of sorrow/pain/death of a loved one.
      Hope this answers your question!

Thank so incredibly much for your abundant explanation. It hasn’t changed my mind but I didn’t want that to happen. Still though, I want to thank you very much for such a tremendously detailed explanation.I really appreciate it. Bye
